The mess is cleaned, the joists, insulation and vapor barrier are replaced, and the new floor is in the porch.  I have learned that I do not want to ever be a miner.  They have dark, scary, small-spaces jobs.  Please, Agnostic Spirit in the Sky, send us some boring time now, without major catastrophes around every corner.

Had a water well drilling guy come out today to check out the funny smell under the front porch.  We ended up getting out the reciprocating saw and cutting a hole in the floor, only to discover a lot of standing water, a leaking black water clean out cap, and a whole lot more work to do before the snow flies.  Gaaaaarrrggghhh!  Tomorrow, Allysha arrives!  She’s always here for the dirtiest jobs...

Just got home from two weeks in Ottawa for my cousin Greg’s wedding.  I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with my grandpa and grandma especially.  I have a very close, very connected extended family.  It was great to get away, have a rest from the renos that never seem to end and the fall chores that seem to get harder each year.
