lacombe corn maze

We all went there today.  There were 20 of us there or something close.  I had more fun in one day than ever before.  I HIGHLY recommend this place for everyone, all ages.  This was one of those days I'll remember forever.

more surgery

My dad developed a hole in his cheek (titanium screw sticking out) and this latest surgery was supposed to fix that as well as straighten his nose (been screwed up since the first big surgery in 08) and give him teeth by way of dental implants.  He looks a bit nightmarish again, but is himself, as they weren't poking around in his brain this time.  I hope he is happier with his appearance at the end of this, but I suspect he will never fully regain his former looks/ confidence.  I love my dad like crazy and I'm just happy to still have most of him with us, but I think the equation can get a little more complex in his head.  Saw a great quote that rang true for me.  The quote refers to the electric shock therapy that Hemingway received.
"It was a brilliant cure but we lost the patient."  Ernest Hemingway
I'm not saying we lost my dad entirely, but sometimes it feels a bit that way to me, and likely to him as well.
